Brooklyn executives contacted and spoke with Ime Udoka before firing Steve Nash as head coach, according to Yahoo! sports.
Udoka is considered one of the contenders for the vacant position at the Nets.
The specialist is well acquainted with the team`s star trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons. Udoka worked as an assistant in Philadelphia during the 2019-20 season, when Simmons played for the team. And the following season, he worked at the Nets` training camp at Nash`s headquarters.
The Celtics suspended Udoka from work for the entire 2022/23 season for an intimate relationship with an employee of the club.
